About Promains

Promains started its New Zealand journey in 2010, set up as a wholly owned division of Promains Australia PTY Limited.

The vision was to have a single source importing/distribution company that dealt directly with Civil Contracting, Water Maintenance, Irrigation Contractors, and Commercial Plumbing companies, providing a comprehensive range of watermain products and accessories for both infrastructure and private work.

In 2013, Promains was purchased by the owner of the Solo Group (Solo Plastics Limited & Fusion Welding Limited). The entire group was sold to a private investor in February 2019 and maintains 100% Kiwi ownership.

January 2020 saw a complete restructure of Promains with a vision to expanding the branch network both in Auckland and Nationwide. Promains Papakura opened in August 2020 in order to better service the growing needs of customers in South Auckland and Counties Manukau.

Promains Hamilton opened October 2021, to service the growing needs of the greater Waikato, Bay of Plenty, and Coromandel regions.

Promains Whangarei opened May 2022, to serve the ever growing civil and irrigation markets.

Promains Christchurch opened May 2024. The start of our South Island footprint!

Promains regularly sells into other New Zealand and Export markets when requested, these activities are generated by our reputation in terms of service and stock availability.
